Aimed primarily at the Gentiles, he records particularly the parables and Jesus’ interest in the poor and oppressed of all nations. This includes the Centurion’s servant, and a widow’s son (Ch.7:1-15); one about to die and the other already dead! Both of whom Jesus had compassion upon, and healed completely. The first four chapters of Luke can be described as the preparation for His ministry, and the chapters 4 – 19 the record of this miraculous ministry in Galilee, Judea and Perea Chapters 19 – 24 start from the Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem, and the events leading up to His crucifixion, resurrection and ministry to the Apostles; before his ascension up to Heaven. NOTES & QUOTES: Luke is described by some as the most beautiful book in the New Testament, and with good reason.
